To date the Mackhayley Foundation has donated more than $25,000 between Children’s Hospital of Illinois NICU at OSF St. Francis in Peoria, IL and the Obstetrics Ward of the OSF St. James – John W. Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac, IL. The nurses, physicians and administrators at the hospitals determine what is needed for the specific facility. For example the Obstetrics Ward in Pontiac has been able to purchase a variety of equipment over the last several years. They have purchased an I.V. pump compatible with Life Flight, an Algo3 – Newborn Screening Hearing Device, and a fetal monitor used to pick up the heartbeat of the baby in utero.

The fetal monitor purchased most recently will allow the physician or staff to more closely monitor the baby and any issues that may arise. The money donated can go to purchase equipment that is not in the budget but is needed.
